This is a novel (part of a series) about a somewhat wealthy
family in England,circa 1800 who "adopt" a male street
urchin,later turning him into an educated person with a life
a head of him. The other urchin is a female whose life takes a
slightly different direction. These two lives are intertwined.
A nice read. Well written but,was non emotional. This has
good descriptions of England's upper and lower classes, at that
time. Overall,enjoyable and worth it to read through to that
surprising,shocking plot twist at the end.
